Recipe: Shatavavari latte
This one is for the ladies.
Shatavari is known in Ayurveda as THE women's herb, nicknamed "one hundred husbands".
Celebrated for it's ability to build OJAS. It is a powerful adaptogenic herb famous for it's ability to balance women's hormones.
It invokes a calm energy and increases libido.
Add to the blend a medjool date, some ghee, and digestive spices and we are setting ourselves up for success.
This tonic has become an afternoon or evening favourite of mine.
It is however important to note that Shatavari is considered a “building herb”. This means that it is not to be used during periods of cleansing. It is also wise to cycle adaptogens, i.e. take periods of time to pause from taking them.
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup of milk of choice
1 medjool date with the pit removed
1/2 teaspoon of Shatavari powder. Alternatively 1ml of shatavari tincture would work too.
1 teaspoon of grass fed ghee
1 pinch cinnamon powder
1 pinch cardamom powder
METHOD:
Heat on the stove then blend up until the date has disappeared, pour into your favourite cup, and fall in love!
